Neo Bio Energy acquires another agricultural biogas plant. New investment in Żórawina
Neo Bio Energy, operating within Neo Energy Group, has finalized the acquisition of another agricultural biogas plant – this time in Żórawina, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, just 12 km from Wrocław.
The transaction was concluded with a long-term partner, Biowatt S.A., which, following the sale of the biogas plant, will be able to focus on further developing its core business – the design and construction of biogas installations.
“We are currently the fastest-growing company in the agricultural biogas sector in Poland. We are dynamically expanding our portfolio – this year alone we have acquired projects in Łobez, Grzmiąca and Borzęciczki, and now Żórawina is also joining Neo Bio Energy. This is another completed transaction out of eleven preliminary agreements previously signed for the acquisition of agricultural biogas plants,”
says Sławomir Nowicki, CEO of Neo Bio Energy.
The biogas plant, with an installed capacity of 2 MWe, has been operating continuously since 2014, producing green electricity and heat used by a neighboring pig farm.
In addition, the installation produces a high-quality natural fertilizer that improves soil quality and reduces the use of synthetic fertilizers. It also enables the efficient management of agricultural waste, contributing to the reduction of odor emissions from local agri-food facilities.
As emphasized by Tomasz Kajdan, Vice President of the Management Board of Biowatt S.A.:
“The sale of the biogas plant allows us to focus on our core activity, which is the design and construction of new installations. We have been cooperating with Neo Bio Energy for many years, and thanks to this transaction we will be able to implement further projects even faster, supporting the development of the renewable energy sector in Poland.”
In the coming year, Neo Bio Energy plans to complete further acquisitions. Achieving this goal will be supported, among others, by financing obtained from Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and PKO Bank Polski, with a target value of PLN 217 million.
The company also plans to further develop its existing installations and modernize them towards biogas-to-biometane conversion.
In the case of the Żórawina biogas plant, biometane production with a 2 MWe equivalent capacity is planned, representing another step toward increasing the efficiency and technological advancement of projects within the company’s portfolio.
