Koło

Type: Agricultural biogas plant
Location: Koło, Greater Poland Voivodeship
Installed capacity: 0,5 MW

In 2023, we finalized the acquisition of a 0.5 MW biogas power plant project at the ready-to-build (RTB) stage. Thanks to the strong involvement of our team, construction and installation works were completed in June 2024, followed by the successful commissioning of the facility.

The biogas plant in Koło currently processes agricultural biogas in a stable and continuous manner. The biogas is supplied by a biogas installation operated by OSM Koło Dairy Cooperative and is converted into green electricity. The installed electrical capacity of the plant amounts to 499 kW. Heat generated by the combined heat and power (CHP) unit is used to support the fermentation process in the bioreactor, significantly improving the overall efficiency of the installation and optimizing the operation of the treatment process.

The plant operates continuously for at least 8,250 hours per year, processing approximately 2 million cubic metres of biogas. As a result, it produces around 4 GWh of electricity annually—enough to meet the energy needs of more than 1,000 Polish households.

The Koło project represents not only an investment in clean energy, but also a tangible contribution to sustainable development and the local circular economy.
