In July 2024, we finalized the acquisition of 100% of the shares in Bioenergia Plus, becoming the owner of an agricultural biogas plant located in Piaski, near Lublin. The installation, with an installed electrical capacity of 1 MW, uses heat from the cogeneration process to support production at a neighbouring dairy plant, thereby improving the overall efficiency of its operations.
The biogas plant works closely with local farmers, producer groups and suppliers of biodegradable waste, ensuring efficient management and utilization of these materials. Converting such waste into biogas not only supports the circular economy, but also contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The digestate produced in the fermentation process is used as a natural fertilizer and returned to local agricultural land.
Over the past three years, the biogas plant has maintained an impressive level of performance, operating for more than 8,000 hours annually while achieving a highly efficient balance of organic feedstock utilization. Forecasts indicate further efficiency improvements, reaching up to 8,250 operating hours per year, enabling the production of approximately 4 million cubic metres of biogas and around 8 GWh of electricity annually.
We plan further development of the facility, including the launch of a biomethane production installation. This investment aligns with the company’s long-term strategy to build a nationwide network of modern biogas plants across Poland, converting organic waste into heat, electricity and next-generation biofuels.
